Výzva je vyhlásená v rámci destinácie INFRADEV, ktorá má za cieľ prispievať k rozvoju a konsolidácii európskych výskumných infraštruktúr. Na podporu tohto cieľa slúži ESFRI – Európske strategické fórum o výskumných infraštruktúrach, ktoré určuje investičné priority výskumných infraštruktúr na nasledujúce obdobie.
