  • Description of the expertise offered
    The Department of Tourism at the Faculty of Central European Studies of CPU, concerns with the tasks of tourism development in multicultural and multinational regions in Central European regions. Drawing on the mentioned objectives research interests of the department include several areas, such as tourism policy and management, creative industries and creative tourism, as well as research of innovative and sustainable trends, for example “green” products in tourism (dark sky parks, regional products). Department also focuses on the competency development of the students as future experts in tourism. Investigations on competency development focus on the integration of innovative and creative methods into the teaching process, such as design thinking, as well as the development of intercultural communicative competences in foreign language education.

    Constantine the Philosopher University is a modern European general university.It offers a variety of study programmes at bachelor, master and doctoral level, providing strong flexibility, innovation and diversity.The university is divided into 5 faculties (Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Central European Studies, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences and Health Care) and other organisational parts. It is the 4th largest university in Slovakia, (9 227 students, 530 teachers, 101 professional study programmes at the undergraduate and graduate level in full-time form, 33 scientific doctoral programmes in full-time form). The Department of Tourism is the organisational part of Faculty of Central European Studies. It provides study programme „Regional Tourism“. The staff of the department consists of 7 internal members (1 professor, 2 associate professors, 4 assistant professors) and secretary. The department concerns with the topic of multicultural and multinational regions in Central European regions in tourism education as well as in research.
