  • Description of the expertise offered
    My research interests include the area of applied linguistics and special didactics. In addition to teaching English for specific purposes, i.e. for future experts in the field of tourism, I focus mainly on the development of intercultural communicative competencies in foreign language education (FLE).My studies dealing with the given issues have been published in scientific journals indexed in Scopus and WoS, as well as in conference proceedings in Slovakia and abroad. My monograph, titled Foreign Language Course-books in Developing Intercultural Communicative Competences, is to be published in February 2018.

  • Description of the organisation
    The main objective of the Department of Tourism is to provide preparation of competent experts in tourism. The department, as well as the Faculty of Central European Studies, concerns with the multicultural and multinational regions in Central European regions. Study is directed to connection of theoretical knowledge with practical training in business sphere which enables students to use acquired knowledge directly in practice of tourist enterprises. Drawing on the mentioned objectives research interests of the department include several areas due to the various specialisations of its members, such as competency development of the students as future experts in tourism, creative industries and creative tourism, as well as research on other innovative trends in tourism. Investigations on competency development focus on the integration of innovative and creative methods into the teaching process, such as design thinking, as well as the development of intercultural communicative competences in foreign language education.
