Téma obehového hospodárstva je jednou z priorít Európskej komisie, čo je zrejmé aj zo zamerania posledných tém (topikov). Problematika cirkulárnej ekonomiky sa nachádza naprieč mnohými tematickými oblasťami programu H2020.
