Databáza vedeckých výsledkov CORDIS v oblasti životného prostredia a prírodných zdrojov (CORDIS Results Packs on environment and resources) prezentuje výsledky najúspešnejších projektov financovaných z programu Horizont 2020, ktoré prispeli k napĺňaniu cieľov Európskej zelenej dohody a nového Akčného plánu pre obehové hospodárstvo.
Výkonná agentúra EK pre malé a stredné podniky (EASME) podporila z programu H2020 realizáciu mnohých projektov zameraných na eko-inovácie, opatrenia v oblasti klímy, ochranu prírodných zdrojov a surovín. Hlavným cieľom vybraných projektov je ekologická transformácia hospodárstva a spoločnosti EÚ v záujme udržateľnej a zelenšej budúcnosti. Udržateľnosť, obehové hospodárstvo, ochrana životného prostredia a efektívne využívanie zdrojov sú kľúčové témy aktualizovanej databázy vedeckých výsledkov CORDIS v oblasti životného prostredia a prírodných zdrojov.
Circular economy for industrial and urban waste management
“Circular economy innovations for industrial and urban waste management”
The results pack presents the results of six projects financed under the Horizon 2020 Calls “Waste-1-2014 – Moving towards a circular economy through industrial symbiosis” and “Waste-6a-2015 – Eco-innovative solutions”.
Water security
“Innovative technological solutions for ensuring Europe’s present and future water security”
The results pack presents the results of ten water projects financed under the Horizon 2020 Call “Water-1a-2014 – Water Innovation: Boosting its value for Europe“. The projects featured in the results pack were also present at EASME’s event “Promoting market-ready water innovations – Investors’ café” dedicated to exploitation, investment and market uptake of eco-innovative solutions in water and circular economy.
Digitalisation of water sector
“Digitalisation through the ICT4WATER cluster to boost innovation in the water sector”
The results pack presents the results of twelve projects that are part of the ICT4Water cluster, a community of Horizon 2020, LIFE and EMFF research and innovation projects on ICT applied to water management.
Water innovation in Africa
“Water innovation for Africa: Sustainable solutions for water management”
The results pack presents the results of seven projects financed under the Horizon 2020 Calls “Water-5c-2015 – Development of water supply and sanitation technology, systems and tools, and/or methodologies” and “Water-5b-2015 – A coordination platform”. The innovative solutions proposed by these projects are helping Africa tackle water-related challenges and foster scientific cooperation between the European Union and Africa. All projects were implemented within the environment sector with focus on water management.
Climate services
The results pack aims to raise awareness of climate services among decision-makers by show casing fourteen Horizon 2020 funded projects and the help they can provide in efforts to adapt to climate change. End-users were involved in the development and testing of the tools to give first-hand experience of benefits and caveats.
The stories presented capture a wide range of possible uses of climate services, such as insurance decisions, disaster risk, water and snow management, urban and regional planning, crop and pest management, assuring energy and healthcare, etc.
Environmental observations
The result packs showcases the outcomes of nine Horizon 2020-funded projects that have developed user-oriented Earth Observations-based applications, creating benefits for citizens and supporting evidence-based policymaking.
European Earth Observations assets, actors and initiatives are coordinated by EuroGEO, Europe’s contribution to the intergovernmental Group on Earth Observations (GEO) and its Global Earth Observation System of Systems (GEOSS). The projects in this results pack have been selected based on progress towards full implementation or role in shaping EuroGEO. The pack will be updated with more projects in the next years.
Climate neutrality
“Climate neutrality: Pathways for achieving the European Green Deal Objectives”
The results pack features eight Climate Action projects funded under the Horizon 2020 Societal Challenge 5 “Climate action, environment, resource efficiency and raw materials”.
Their outcomes show how policies and financing initiatives can steer the EU towards climate neutrality by embracing the complex interplay between the energy system, the economy and consumer behaviour.
Nature based solutions
“Nature-based solutions: Transforming cities, enhancing well-being”
The results pack features nine Nature Based Solutions projects funded under the Horizon 2020 Societal Challenge 5 “Climate action, environment, resource efficiency and raw materials”.
These projects have developed important tools and expertise to address these challenges through nature-based solutions for building sustainable, resilient and prosperous societies.
Mineral extraction
“Mineral Extraction: Securing access to raw materials at minimum environmental and social costs”
The results pack showcases the accomplishments of six Horizon 2020 funded projects, focusing on innovative mineral extraction technologies with improved economic, environmental and health and safety performance, underlining the significance of raw materials and the performance of some of the strongest innovators in the extractive industry.
Mineral exploration
“Sustainable innovative solutions for mineral exploration”
The results pack highlights six cutting-edge Horizon 2020 EU projects that developed innovative exploration technologies for finding metal ores and minerals and that are helping to transform Europe into a sustainable resource-efficient and competitive economy.
Mineral exploration is conducted to search for commercially viable concentrations of ores and minerals for mining purposes. A highly accurate estimation of the volume of the deposits is crucial due to the capital-intensive nature of the mining operation.
